Hours: Classes are offered mornings, afternoons, evenings and some Saturdays

Program Restriction: Classes are for those 18 years of age or older, except for some high school classes.

Services: Offers a variety of programs for adults and high school students needing to make up credit while attending a regular, comprehensive or alternative high school. Offerings include classes for adults interested in earning a high school diploma, prepare for GED test, and improve basic academic skills. Career Technical Education is offered in medical, dental and business/computer career areas. English as a second language classes are offered at multiple levels as well as citizenship classes. Parent education classes include anger management and co-operative preschools at several locations. Also offers Surgical and Sterile Processing courses.

Services: Provides classroom / on-the job training, job placement, search services for low-income residents. Occupational Areas: Book keeping, clerical, micro computer applications, word processing, bank/teller, customer service representative, cable TV installer / technicians, nurses aide, and other health occupations.

Eligibility Requirements: Age 16+

Services: ROP is the Contra Costa County Office of Education’s Career Education program designed for high school juniors and seniors. ROP is offered in every comprehensive high school in Contra Costa County and parts of Alameda. Goals are to help students prepare for careers by learning about career opportunities and developing job skills for new and emerging career fields. Classes include a job finding skills unit to help develop a resume, review effective interviewing techniques and identify sources of employment. Career training opportunities for adults who need to update or acquire new skills.

Services: YDS provides programs, services, and referrals for disadvantaged youth who need assistance in meeting their goals. Knowledgeable staff works with teens to help them reach the educational and employment levels required for self-sufficiency.
